Every newly born again person is supposed to follow up his or her salvation with water baptism which represents that such fellow has died and resurrected with Christ. He is then a new creature and assuredly dead to sin. After that, he follows it up with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. This is the most important of it all because a Christian needs the Holy Spirit to live aright. A Christian Life devoid of the Holy Ghost is absolutely empty and working in emptiness. Such Christian can easily be confused and tossed around by false teachers and false doctrines.

What then is the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Speaking in tongues is the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When you see people speaking in tongues, it signifies that they have the Holy Spirit within them and they speak mysteries.

1Corinthians 14 vs. 2
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Speaking in tongues is direct communication to God. No one can speak in tongues except by the help of the Holy Spirit who stirs it up in our hearts whenever we yield ourselves to Him. When we speak in tongues, the supernatural occurs and God begins to fix things beginning from the Spirit Realm, When we speak in tongues, we might not understand what we are saying and other times, the Holy Spirit might give us an interpretation.

Speaking in tongues is a very important and essential aspect of the Christian life and the Bible urges us to speak in tongues often. Apostle Paul even attested to the fact that he spoke in tongues more than everyone in the Corinth Church. (1Corithians 14 vs. 18) God wants us to speak in tongues very often and we can make our heart desires known to Him through it. A wonderful thing is that the devil doesn't understand when you speak in tongues and this keeps him away.

However, people and Christians today have turned speaking in tongues into a child's play. People now teach others to speak in tongues. People are no longer imparted with the Holy Ghost before they start speaking in their own strange tongues. People speak any tongue anyhow and lie under the umbrella of speaking in tongues. This has painted such important mode of worship as not real. People now make fun of it and blaspheme. You see comedians using it as a source of inspiration for their jokes. Everyone is speaking in tongues - both those that have the Holy Spirit and those that do not have the Holy Spirit.

Speaking in Tongues is an evidence of Holy Spirit Baptism and shouldn't be toyed with if not, the anger of God will be kindled against such a person. If you know you don't have the Holy Spirit, don't bother faking it. If you think you have the Holy Spirit and do not get a stirring to speak in tongues, please check yourself because speaking in tongues occurs after the impartation of the Holy Ghost. Perhaps there is a sin hindering the flow of the Holy Ghost in you.

Don't make fun of it. Don't say it when you don't have it. Don't lie that you have it. Don't fake it. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. Once you have it, always speak it and it becomes a genuine lifestyle. If you don't have it, pray to God for you to get imparted by the Holy Ghost because playing with it is absolute blasphemy. It is blasphemy because you are lying against the Holy Spirit that He is the one in charge who is making you speak the tongues you are speaking. Deep within you, you know it is but a lie. You know the sin against the Holy Ghost cannot be forgiven.

Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come (Matthew 12:31-32).

Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation—because they said, “He has an unclean spirit” (Mark 3:28-30).

And anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven (Luke 12:10).

Do not toy with the evidence. It is a great offense!
