KINGING - ITS OUR TIME TO KING!

'King' here is used as a verb. You cannot King except you are a King. When I say 'King', I am not talking about this earthly royalty stuff. I am not also talking about the past trend of the 'Kinging' tingy. I mean to king for Christ. It all balls down to you discovering yourself and knowing who you are in Christ.

First of all, I want us to discover our identity so that people don't throw tantrums at us and give us just any identity. So many people think they are slaves in Christ. Others think they are servants in Christ. Some think they are just ordinary persons in Christ but who are we in Christ? If you don't discover your identity in Christ, you wont know your inheritance and what's up for you. Lets look at these few Bible Verses

John 1:12

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Ephesians 1:5

5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will

1 Peter 2:9

9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Galatians 3:27-28

27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

1 John 3:1-2

1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Colossians 3:1-3

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

From these Bible Verses, there is no place where it is recorded that we are slaves or servants but we are instead royal priesthoods. We are priests and witnesses unto Christ. We are Kings.

With this realization, I don't think anyone should behave like a pauper or a stranger in Christ because a son that doesn't realize his father is the richest man in the world, would never realize what's in stock for him.

How then do we King? What are the characteristics of a King? A King is always confident. You cannot be a King and be scared. You cannot be a King and be a coward. You have to realize that being a King is a responsibility on its own. You have to own up to the responsibility because it can be taken away from you. Yes, it can be taken away!

So, as a king, you have to realize that you have to be confident in every situation and before anyone because God has instructed us to 'fear not' no matter the situation. In time of trouble, we can always consult the King of Glory and this will always up our confidence.

A King's word is always absolute. His authority is absolute. You have to know that every king has power and as kings, God has given us power already. God knows that we will come in contact with some disturbing facets of life and so He bestowed upon us and in us a great power because we are kings and priests unto Him. So, no power or demon or devil or witch or herbalist or disease or person can harm or hurt us because we carry a great power that is greater than any other power. A superior power 'in the name of Jesus'.

Have you ever wondered why that Pastor is always so confident whenever he's casting out a demon? He has realized his position as a king in Christ and so he knows that the devil is afraid of this realization and with this realization, he is bold because the Master King lives in him and is in control of the situation already. So, when he says

'I command you foreign spirit to come out in Jesus Name!'

He is only applying and exercising his kingship authority given unto him in the name of Jesus because at the name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that He alone is Lord. So that name alone is not only carrying power but it is power in itself and that power is the power given to every King unto God - Christians! So, you too can cast out demons! From casting out that malaria in your body to casting out a friend's headache to casting out demons! What a wonderful realization!

So, as a king, whenever you say GO, it must Go! Whenever you say COME, it must COME! Remember when those kids made fun of the prophet of God, Elijah who was a king unto God, he out of anger uttered a command and those kids were consumed immediately. We have to know that we carry so much power that the devil is scared and so the best thing he can do is to make us ignorant of the fact that we are power - carriers and the day you loose or forget your identity is the day you start operating outside and without the power because you don't know who you are.

This is why I so much Love this insightful song by sinach which says -

I Know Who I Am"
[2x]
We are a chosen generation
Called forth to show His excellence
All I require for life, God has given me
And I know who I am

[2x]
I know who God says I am
What He says I am
Where He says I'm at
I know who I am

[2x]
I’m walking in power,
I’m walking miracles
I live a life of favor,
'Cause I know who I am

[Repeat from the top]

Oh oh oh, oh oh oh
I know who I am
[Repeat]

I am holy, I am righteous oh…
I am so rich, I am beautiful

[2x]
I’m walking in power,
I’m walking miracles
I live a life of favor,
'Cause I know who I am

Take a look at me, I’m a wonder
It doesn’t matter what you see now
Can you see His glory?
'Cause I know who I am
[Repeat]

[2x]
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh
I know who I am

If you don't know who you are in Christ, you are automatically nobody!

A King is Prosperous. This is to tell us that God is not against prosperity. The Bible says the Earth is the Lord's and its fullness thereof. So, if you are not prospering, you are not kinging and you are not obviously repping. Prosperity is one of the characteristics of the end - time Church. So, if at this stage of your Christian life, you are still envying and joining people to insult Pastors that are prospering, then you know nothing of being a King unto God because Jesus was never poor! He was born into a poor family but never ended up being poor! So, you have to change your mentality and dominate the world!

A King has a reputation. There are places you can never find a king not because he is proud but because he knows his position and has a reputation to build and keep. As a king, you are not expected to be found in the midst of ungodly people except for the sake of preaching. You are not supposed to be found at parties or in the club or in the beer parlour or in unholy places. As a king, you are not supposed to be found in the midst of people arguing over football from day to night. Watching football is not bad but when it becomes your god, it becomes bad.

There are so many other characteristics of a king. We have to realize that as kings, there is a heavy responsibility placed upon us because so many people are watching us and our every move. We must also be careful of everything we say as kings because we will give account of every idle word we speak so we shouldn't join others to say slangs. A king is cultured and conscious of his words! As kings, we are to dominate wherever we are and strive to be absolutely different from others. We are not to join them but instead, show them the true way and lead them because a king is always in front!

However, a king must yet be very humble! Jesus is a king but this didn't stop Him from 'servanting'. Apostle Paul was a king but this did not stop him from 'servanting'. We are kings and this must not stop us from 'servanting'. A true king serves his people but yet, there is a difference between an ordinary servant and a king who 'servants'. Servanting simply means being very humble. It all balls down to humility because God resists the proud and raises the humble! And inasmuch as a king must endeavour to be prosperous in all of his doings doesn't make money his number one mind-set. It starts with wisdom and not the love of money.

So, who are you? A Slave? A Servant? Or a King? And now you know that as a Christian, you are a king. Are you really KINGING? And even if you are kinging, are you also SERVANTING? God is the true and superior king and has made us kings and priests unto Him and we therefore are not left hanging. We have an inheritance! GLORY TO GOD!
