PUBLIC OPINION

On Public Opinion today, we asked a few Nigerians their take on the present fuel scarcity situation in Nigeria. This was their response

ABUJADE, AN IMO STATE CORPER

'Basically, I think because Imo is an Oil Producing State, fuel hasn't gone up like that of those in the west. Just going up by N10. So there is a little scarcity here just for those that want to buy it at N87. But it is sold at N150 at some places.

EDWIN, A 300 LEVEL STUDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN FROM THE FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY

I don't have any take o. Its not just humane

BIBIRE, A 300 LEVEL STUDENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF VERTINARY MEDICINE, UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

I feel that there isn't actual scarcity, but that the retailers are hoarding the fuel in order to make more money thus causing a pseudo - scarcity, and it is causing issues as essentials are hardly affordable, cab fares have increased by almost 60%, water is hardly affordable, and so on. The issue of fuel scarcity has to be treated with utmost urgency and importance.

VICTOR, AN IT CONSULTANT

I want the people in the government to provide a lasting solution so that the citizen would not experience this tough time.

DIPO, AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

He - he - he. I am okay with it.

We apologize that we couldn't place their pictures. That would be worked on by tomorrow. Thank you.
