THE GOD OF PROSPERITY

Today was a beautiful day! I didnt follow my parents to their church (P.S - My school is on strike so am gladly at home till its called off). So, I went to a nearby church in my estate...the king's parish.
I love this pastor because he is worded! You know we have a section on this blog called 'WORDED'! This man knows the Bible and I love people like that. They really challenge and encourage me to study God's word more. But its not just about the study but about being practical as well.

Today, he talked about the topic - THE GOD OF PROSPERITY. The name of the parish is King's Parish under The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

It was a beautiful talk. He firstly started with the fact that we all inherited the curse placed on humanity after adam sinned. But after Jesus died on the cross, our inheritance became blessings of God. This is one of the things that hapened on the cross. Jesus took our curse and gave us blessings. He was made sin for us who knew no sin.

2Corinthian 5.21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Now, after we had access to the blessings of and from God, we also had access to the Abrahamic blessings. As Christians, we have the Abrahamic blessings. One unique thing about Abraham is that God blessed him in ALL things...spiritually, physically, health wise, materially, mentally, socially, financially etc. He was so blessed to the extent that even the servants in his house were prosperous. They were also blessed.

Genesis 24 vs 1

And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.

So, as a born again Christian, we have access to the Abrahamic blessings which indicates that we are also blessed in ALL things. We are also blessed Spiritually.

He went on to mention that God is delighted in the prosperity of every man. So this cancels the notion that God enjoys the suffering of humanity. This is a terrible lie from the pit of hell.

Psalm 25 vs. 27

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure(delight is used in other versions) in the prosperity of his servant.

He then told us that even though we have access to the Abrahamic blessings, there are some things we have to do to get it installed into our life. The first is to fear God - having personal respect for God. The second is to do His will in totality. I can't remember the third now (I was engrossed in His wordedness)

After all this, He said we have to know that God is the only one who bestows upon us blessings. There are many people who run from pillar to post but get very little in return.

Psalm 127 vs. 2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep

He said this was his case when he first came to Lagos and worked in an insurance company as a marketer. He would wake up VERY early, going from door to door looking for customers and sleep very late at night only to wake up early the next day again without having perhaps 5 hours sleep. After everything, he might not get enough customers and even the ones he get, he might have trouble sustaining them to keep on with their insurance. At the end of the month, after all the commission have been removed, he would be left with a chicken change which could make him almost cry after all his hard work.

Psalm 127 vs. 2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep

Meanwhile, God has already made arrangements for His children while they are asleep and they just wake up to enjoy His blessings. Thats why they get divinely orchestrated favour processed calls of Joy and contracts. Whats the difference between these two?

The difference between these two is the Bible verse below

Romans 9 vs. 16

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

So, no matter the wisdom or talent you have, if God doesnt have mercy on you, it would all be in a waste.

Also, to tap into God's blessings, you must be a giver. Always Give to God. When God says give, He is also saying 'GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BLESS YOU'. Never be stingy to give to God and even to people that dont have.

PRAYER POINT - 1. Lord, help me to be a giver and not to be stingy

2. Lord, have mercy on me! Dont let me work in vain!

I hope you were blessed just as I was. If you were, dont hesitate to share!

God bless you!
