God is a good good. Nevertheless, He is a disciplined and principled God. And its very wonderful how He has told us what He hates...detests and what He loves. He told us this so that we won't do what will make Him angry. Yes, God is good but God can be very angry and once God is angry with you, if you don't seek His mercy, it can be very disastrous.
So, there are somethings God hates as stated in

Proverbs 6 vs. 16 - 19

16 There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17         haughty eyes,
        a lying tongue,
        hands that shed innocent blood,
18         a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19         a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Let's discuss them one by one

This can be likened to a 'Proud look' as used in some other Bible versions. the version above is the NIV Bible version. According to an English Online Dictionary, it means 'arrogantly superior and disdainful'. This means God hates the proud and He doesnt want His children to display a prideful attitude. Jesus, when on earth, was very humble to the core. He was so humble to the extent that He washed the feet of His disciples and He always stated that as a leader, you are a servant.

Pride can come in different and varying forms. It could be pride resulting from riches. When you are wealthy or you have wealthy parents, you tend to start forming class. You begin to create unnecessary relationship boundary. That means, a certain people can talk to you while others cannot. Pride can be as a result of beauty. Knowing fully well that you are beautiful or handsome, pride could start swelling in your heart.

Pride can result from knowledge and intelligence. Due to the fact that you are intelligent as people say, pride can come in the way you talk to people and do your things. Pride could result from being a christian. Yes, even fervent christians could get proud because they know the Bible in and out and pray so well. They might start looking at others as inferior. Pride can come as a result of achievements.

You have to pray against pride and stay away from such luciferic attitude because satan is the father of every proud person. Remember he was sent out of Heaven because he became very proud. Pride can keep a person out of heaven. Pride can come in so many ways and even other ways I havent mentioned but here is a message for the proud.

 Matthew 18 vs. 1 - 4

“Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”  And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Phillipians 2 vs. 3 - 4

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.  Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

1Peter 5 vs. 5 - 6

“Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”

Matthew 23 vs. 10 - 12

“Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

Ephesians 4 vs. 1 - 3

“ I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Micah 6 vs. 8

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

2Chronicles 34 vs. 27

“because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.”

2Chronicles 7 vs. 14

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”

In the second series, we will discuss the second thing God hates. Have a blessed night!
