BE FOOLISH FOR GOD!

The world is advancing and advancing and continually advancing. To where?, one may ask. We will get to know soon. But we can certainly say that the world is continually evolving and changing. Rather than people's eyes opening to the truth, their eyes are continuously been blinded by the devil. The Bible verse below is very important to the short topic we will be discussing.

Eph 5:17 (NIV)

Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

Isaiah 55 vs. 8

 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

Since the day Adam and Eve sinned, man fell and evil came into the world and we got dangerous knowledge. Our minds could work dangerously. We could decipher between good and evil. We could decide to be rational beings. This should have been good but unfortunately, this doesnt work with God.

The way and manner in which God operates is far different from the way man operates. I will liken the God - Man relationship to the relationship between a Parent and a Child. Let's ponder on this short story below -

Annie finally clocked 16. She was elated! She assumed she could do anything she felt like doing. To her, she was wise enough and matured enough for anything. She was an adult. At least, her full grown breast and her enlarged hips were an indication. She took out her little diary and wrote her goals as a matured teen.

  • Now, I can say YES to harry. I will love to be his girlfriend
  • Now, I can attend birthday parties and nights out
  • Now, I can wear any skimpy cloth I wish to wear
  • Now, I can take a little alcohol - just little anyway
With Joy, she smiled and continued the day. However, she forgot her diary on her bed and went to make her hair. Her mother previously left some letters in her room and went over to pick them. Before she left, she spotted her diary and curiously decided to have a peep. To her greatest suprise, she read Annie's new goals. She was very hurt and broke down in tears. She needed to devise a means to convince her daughter that she was making the wrong choice.

Obviously, Annie refused to listen to her mother. She thought her mother was too dictatorial, too harsh, too old school and didnt mean well for her because all her friends were doing it already. And the rest is history.

Many of us are the Annies of today. We keep on making very wrong choices. I tell you, you just have to be foolish for God. If you think you are very wise, you cannot work for God and you cannot walk with God. Many people keep using rationality to understand God. They keep using the point view of science and philosophy to have a peep into the truth. Well, they will only end up at the bus stop of the devil. Why? Because for now, he is the prince of the world and not until you accept Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life, you will think God is not real. You will think Christians are foolish. You will think Christianity is stupid.

If you really want to know the truth, drop your rationality and intellectuality and self - wisdom and empty yourself before God. Be foolish (foolishness in the sense of dropping your human and carnal wisdom) and accept you know nothing. Let God fill you!

Someone reading this would comment just like Annie - Another foolish article.

1Corinthians 3 vs. 19

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness";
