Before, I used to be someone who was an adherent preacher of doctrines.

'Don't do this and don't do that'

The preaching always ended up in argument and Apostle Paul in the new testament warned against Christians arguing about doctrines. I always got upset because the person always failed to see my points and accept it. Well, I was totally wrong! That is a very bad evangelism skill.

Mark 16 vs. 15

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Jesus Christ instructed us to preach the GOSPEL and not DOCTRINES. The Gospel is what Jesus Christ has done. What did He do? When we were at the verge of destruction, He redeemed our souls and paid the price by dying on the cross of calvary for our sins.

2Corinthians 5 vs. 21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin

We were supposed to have died for our sins and ended up in destruction but NO!

John 3:16GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

16 God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.

When He died, He didnt just die forever. His death on the cross would have been in vain but as He predicted, He arose on the third day!

Acts 2 vs. 24

But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

And he went to hell and conquered death, taking its keys!

Revelations 1 vs. 18

I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

In essence, we are totally free and have the power of God in us! Isnt that Good News? It is! The Gospel means Good News. This is the Good News Christ wants every believer to know because anyone that believes it shall be saved and not condemned.

We should endeavour to preach the good news and not go about arguing about whether to use earrings or not. That is not our job. The Holy Spirit does the conviction. When the person is saved, they will drop their old ways of life through the conviction of the Holy Spirit without coercion.

Kenneth Hagin wrote in one of his books I was reading some months ago. He said a young man once walked up to him and asked him how he could stop drinking and smoking. Pastor Kenneth advised him not to stop. The young man was perplexed. He instead told him to rather accept Jesus. This is because his human strength cannot help him or stop him. Only Jesus can and when Jesus is in your life, every old way ends.

2Corinthians 5 vs. 17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

What are you preaching? Christ or Doctrines?

Remember, the devil dwells in argument. By arguing, you could make the unbeliever worse and this could harden his heart. Preach the Gospel of Christ today!
